New Tests

Our first test, PINK or BLUE, The Early Gender Test, is a do-at-home gender detection kit for expectant mothers who are just six weeks into pregnancy. Up until now, women have had to wait until they are four or five months pregnant to find out the gender of their babies through ultrasounds. Our revolutionary PINK or BLUE test, based on fetal DNA in the mother's blood, is much more accurate than ultrasounds and in general costs much less. With this test a woman can be closer to her baby sooner. Knowing her baby’s gender, she can prepare earlier for the delivery of her new child.

Soon we will offer two exciting new genetic tests relating to our ability to metabolize caffeine and alcohol. There have been many studies about whether caffeine or alcohol consumption is good for us. But these studies are often conflicting. In a recent study reported in the March 8 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, scientists found an explanation for the controversial data. It appears that we all metabolize caffeine differently, either fast or slow, depending on which gene we have. If we have a slow gene and drink caffeine drinks such as coffee, we are more likely to have a heart attack. Yet if we have the fast gene, drinking coffee actually reduces our risk of heart attack. There are similar studies relating to the metabolism of alcohol. With our genetic tests, consumers can know whether the consumption of caffeine and/or alcohol will be harmful or helpful to their health.
